These proceedings present scientific papers produced within the BIMIOT project – Implementation Framework and Business Model of the Internet of Things in Smart Industry and Transport, carried out by the University of Žilina in 2022–2023 under the Operational Programme Integrated Infrastructure.

The project focused on the use of data and Internet of Things technologies in production and workforce management. Its aim was to identify the key factors entering the operational planning of production staff deployment and to analyse the data that represent these factors. Using operations research and econometric methods, the researchers then designed a decision-making model for assigning production employees to work positions. The research also explored ways of connecting to a company's infrastructure through sensors, actuators and integration interfaces of IoT devices. It further addressed cost optimisation through rented hardware infrastructure, cloud platforms and secure connection to on-premise corporate systems by means of edge computing.
